We live and work in the beautiful historic town of Frederick, Md. Established in 1745, this town boasts many homes of a similar era. While these historic beauties offer the town its unique charm, they also offer the owners of the homes a good deal of complicated restoration projects. One of the many projects that owners of historic homes must decide whether to embark on or not, is the remediation of knob and tube wiring.

What is knob and tube wiring? Great question?

Knob and tube is the oldest form of residential electrical wiring and is named for the two most recognizable components of the system: the porcelain knobs and tubes which support the wires as they run along joist bays and inside of walls and the porcelain tubes that protect the wires as they dive through wooden studs and joists.

If you have a home with historic wiring that is still active and would like to know more about our particular remediation process, check out this video and reach out to us via our contact page. Thanks and enjoy!
