Your home’s exterior electrical equipment consists of the exterior meter socket (meter box), your exterior shit off switch (if applicable) and any exposed conductors, whether encased in conduit or sheathed in weather & UV-resistant material. This system is designed to be installed in “wet locations” but overtime, like most things, the weather can take its toll on these items, leaving them rusted & corroded. When you find your exterior equipment in this state, it’s time to replace it.
